Current Favorite Skin Care Products

So I've done a little shopping lately, probably enough to do a Sephora and Ulta Haul, yikes!  I thought I would minimize the list of products and share my current skin care favorites.  I use a good amount of face products and constantly buy more while rotating what I already have into my skincare routine.  This post is a compilation of my current favorites (not exactly all of the products I use) but mainly seven of my current skin care obsessions.

I use these products both in the morning, evening, or throughout the day when necessary.  The mask I'll mention below I try to use about once a week depending on the needs of my skin.  I promise you, that if I could find one skin care product on the market that would do the jobs of the entire list below, I would still prefer to have all of the different products for reasons based solely on their different textures and smells.  Besides, who doesn't want to feel pampered by rose water or relax with a peppermint mask?

My current obsession of all the products mentioned is the Mario Badescu Skin Care Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater... Yes, ROSEWATER!  I mean it smells like roses! So heavenly and so refreshing!  You can use the facial spray before and after applying make-up, or throughout the day to replenish dull or dehydrated skin.  My little secret is I keep a travel size bottle in my purse and a second larger one in the fridge for a cooling boost.  The spray lightly mists onto skin and absorbs quickly, making it perfect for traveling too.  The rose scent is not powerful and is just utterly perfect for all skins types.

Also in my current list of favorite skin care products is Garnier's Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream for Normal/Combo Skin.  This refreshing gel-cream is ideal for my skin as it is not too heavy, absorbs quickly, and goes great underneath make-up.  I tend to be on the oilier side and living in Southern California has my skin craving hydration.  This moisturizer has grape-water extract and Vitamin E, leaving my skin smelling refreshed and feeling cool.  If you tend to be on the drier side, they also sell a formula for dry skin with two times more moisturizing agents.

My night routine consists of eye cream.  I have two that I recommend for best results.  As I get older I worry about the skin around my eyes.  I am fortunate to not have any eye wrinkles or crows feet yet, but I truly believe in early prevention.  Sometimes I will get puffiness around my eye from lack of sleep, but for the most part I attribute my luck to religiously using eye cream.  I even carry a tube in my purse for the mornings when I have not had a lot of sleep.  The first eye product is by Garnier called Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Eye Cream.  This is a white lotion that you dab around the outer corners of the eye and underneath.  I use this both in the morning and night or throughout the day if my eye area is feeling dry.  I experience no irritation, redness or peeling from this cream so I can use it frequently.  The second eye cream is a newer purchase for me, but I have been loving it!  It is the RoC Retinol Correxion Sensitive Eye Cream.  This is anti-aging for retinol-sensitve skin and reduces the appearance of crow's feet and under eye wrinkles.  This formula works well in the morning and night, as well as under make-up.  I rotate this one and only use it once every other day and only at night.  I am somewhat sensitive to retinol but I have read that I can build up a tolerance for it by gradually incorporating it into my skincare routine.  I do notice the benefits when using this, but I will also see slight peeling of my skin when I wash my face if I use it too often.

The other two products I use at night are for any breakouts I may have.  The first one is Up & Up's Maximum Strength Acne Medication with Benzoyl Peroxide Gel.  This product helps to clear up and reduce the severity of acne outbreaks and I use it whenever I need to quickly dry a breakout.  My skin responds really well to benzoyl peroxide since salicylic acid can cause me slight irritation.  Whenever I use this, the blemish is practically gone overnight.  The second product in my current favs is the Murad Post-Acne Spot Lightening Gel.  This little bottle works wonders and fades post-acne discoloration with powerful skin lightening agents, while minimizing breakouts with plant-derived blemish fighters.  It's like having two products in one that are both beneficial when experiencing a break-out.

My final skin care favorite is by Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics and it's their Mask of Magnaminty. This mask is so addicting and packed with peppermint, kaolin and adzuki beans. It basically smells like mint ice cream and is practically safe to eat.  Lush makes an array of natural products including their famous bath bombs, but this mask tops their list for me.  There should be a warning on this little black tub that you may want to eat it, haha.  The peppermint smells wonderful and the I can feel the adzuki beans exfoliating off any dead skin when I wash it off.  Afterwards, I promise you my skin feels sooo soft.
All of these products mentioned work well together, and I hope you are able to find a new item that you may want to incorporate into your skincare routine.  If you like any of the products mentioned, I'll have some linked above, and throughout the post.  Have you tried any of these products I mentioned?  I would love to hear your recommendations, and if there was one skin product you could not live without, what would it be?  Please comment below!

XOXO,
Nicole Veronica
